Responsibilities:

Workforce Planning & Rostering

  • Create monthly shift plans within the planning cycle, using GS Planning (GSP) for manpower and ground support equipment (GSE) calculations
  • Regular Coverage Checks with GSP (ad hoc and during roster release period)
  • Adapt and maintain the GSP planning parameters, including engagement standards, shift planning rules, and other relevant settings
  • Generate monthly rosters using SP Expert as a workforce rostering tool
  • Prepare department-specific duty rosters in compliance with operational, legal, and other regulatory requirements

Roster Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

  • Update duty rosters after publication as needed, including replacement of absences
  • Maintain employee data in the scheduling systems and monitor employee working hours, vacation, and compensation balances
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the rostering & planning cycle
  • Provide data reports and analysis upon request
  • Proactively develop proposals and recommendations on workforce planning, with the goal of improving productivity and optimizing planning processes

Employee & Stakeholder interaction

  • Act as the contact person for the employees within the assigned departments
  • Function as a consultant for the operational process managers, team managers, and business line leaders

Additional Tasks:

  • Contribute to improvement projects
  • Act as deputy for colleagues within the RMCE Planning Center (cross-department and/or cross-station, if needed)

Education and additional requirements:

  • University education or equivalent related experience
  • Experience in workforce rostering & planning, ideally within the aviation ground handling environment

Operational Knowledge and personal profile:

1. Knowledge of task execution

  • Analytical thinking and the ability to read graphs and tables with KPIs relevant to delivering efficient shift demand and planning coverage for manpower
  • Understand the concepts of a service center, a center of expertise, and the holistic view of the end-to-end processes handled within

2. System and language skills

  • English, as the industry, corporate, and technology language, is mandatory (level of reading understanding and ability to follow work meetings)
  • German: should be at a level in fluent written and verbal exchange
  • Advanced IT knowledge of: TEAMS, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Specialized applications: knowledge of GS Planning and Rostering Tools would be an advantage
