Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact and coordinator for insurance-related tasks, with a focus on non-life and, if necessary, life insurance matters, in collaboration with external brokers when required.
  • Manage claims and contract-related insurance matters.
  • Plan and structure the current and future insurance portfolio, including premium forecasting.
  • Support the design and negotiation of insurance contracts.
  • Participate in international corporate projects and legal matters to ensure a uniform insurance framework across major umbrella insurance policies (e.g., PDBI, liability, transport, D&O).
  • Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders (management, facility managers, fire protection officers, etc.) and external partners (brokers, experts, risk engineers, appraisers).
  • Introduce and enforce standardized insurance-related practices across locations.
  • Develop and deliver internal training sessions on topics such as transport insurance and claims handling.
  • Serve as the primary contact for specialist departments regarding insurance queries.
  • Work closely with the Legal team on insurance-related legal matters.

Required Qualifications: 

University degree in law (Law, Business Law, or a comparable field).

Several years of experience in the field of law and insurance, with a focus on non-life insurance (e.g., property, liability, transport).

Practical experience in dealing with authorities, insurers, insurance brokers, and legal advisors.

Ability to independently manage insurance-related tasks and projects at both the group and site level.

Knowledge of insurance processes, claims handling, and the development of insurance portfolios.

Familiarity with the design and management of insurance contracts and policies.

Experience working on international corporate projects with an emphasis on insurance framework standardization.

Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., insurance brokers, risk engineers, legal advisors).

Knowledge of insurance legal standards and the ability to introduce and implement them across locations.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for creating reports, managing documentation, and preparing presentations.

Fluent in German and good in English.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the field of insurance.

Ability to independently handle and manage insurance processes, claims, and contracts within budget constraints.

Capable of working collaboratively with other departments, including legal teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to insurance matters.
