Our Information Technology team is looking for experienced professionals to join us in Makati City with the role of Database Administration Officer.

In this role, you will monitor and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and integrity. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues, implement updates and patches, and perform regular administrative tasks such as backups, integrity checks, and performance tuning. You will support the stability and efficiency of the Banks database infrastructure.

What the role will entail

  • Contribute knowledge and design ideas in key business areas, and foster strong client and vendor relationships, collect and analyze client satisfaction metrics aligned with team SLAs, and challenge existing solutions to drive continuous improvement and maximize IT value. Ensure team adherence to IT Service Level Agreement (SLA) and customer Operational Level Agreement (OLA), including daily management of ticket queue within SLA
  • Provide regular management and operational reports to stakeholders and submit entries to the risk registry
  • Assist in incident and problem management activities, including regular progress of incident troubleshooting
  • Participate in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) operations review and ticket request quality review
  • Maintain operational excellence through stakeholder reporting, risk management, self-audits, and knowledge base or SOP upkeep.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or any related course
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in database administration or computer programming, and preferably familiar with Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server and Oracle technologies, including architecture and design on Linux systems
  • Skilled in SQL and PL/SQL development, Shell/Python scripting, and comprehensive RDBMS management including performance optimization, upgrades, RAC setup, and robust security techniques with SQL Server certification considered a strong asset
  • Strong proficiency in UNIX, Windows, and VMware environments
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) lifecycle services and technical support practices
  • Initiative, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in accordance with project deadlines, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
