About the job Senior Litigation Lawyer
Job Purpose
Responsible for administering and supervising Bank Lawyers and Paralegals of the Department with respect to handling cases filed by and/or against it, managing a portfolio of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) relative to corporate loan accounts, and to a limited extent, providing legal advisory services to different units of the Bank.
Responsible for evaluating and determining the legal position of the Bank and recommending appropriate action with respect to litigated cases or to transactions or issues which may give rise to possible litigation and advise management accordingly.
Monitoring and coordinating with external counsels handling outsourced court cases.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Report to Board and other Bank Committees
- Handling of Cases (Filed by and against the Bank)
- Supervision of Work of Direct Reports
- Membership in CODE Hearing Committee
- Remedial Management
Requirement
- Bachelor of Laws/Juris Doctor
- Experienced Litigation Lawyer
- A least 10 years relevant experience preferably with banks/financial institutions or in litigation, research and opinion, document drafting and review
- Experience in managing, initiating, and implementing strategies to maximize collection and recovery of assets of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) preferred but not required
- Keen attention to detail, Ability to draw reasonable, local conclusions or assumptions or make judgment, Good communication skills, Analytical skills, Research skills
