About the job Business Analyst
JOB PURPOSE:
- The Business Analyst holds discussions with stakeholders to understand their requirements and their vision of the product. This is then translated into business requirements and communicated to the development team members to make them understand the expectations of the project. Responsible for working with the development team to ensure that the product backlog is well-groomed and contains user stories ready for development. He/she should have a deep knowledge of the business domain, systems and capabilities related to the project being delivered.
- Accountable for facilitating sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions, as well as helping to ensure that the development team clearly understands the user stories they are working on. Responsible for creating and maintaining any necessary documentation, such as requirements specifications and change logs. Helps the development team to get a better grasp of the project and where it fits within the organizational strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements based on business requirement document.
- Collect and analyze business and industry data, including key performance indicators (KPIs), financial reports, and other metrics
- Act as a mediator between different business departments to ensure smooth communication and with the technical delivery team.
- Evaluate current business processes and identify areas for improvement using business process modeling and other techniques.
- Maintain documentation by keeping detailed information of various projects, processes, and operations.
- Create and propose solutions to business problems, often using cost-benefit analysis.
- Create sprint tickets detailing epics and user stories, including detailed use cases.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations to stakeholders, explaining project progress, findings and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College or university degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related course.
- At least 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in any relevant position.
- Work experience in a bank or fintech is an advantage
- Experience working as part of an Agile team (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Understanding of software development methodologies, databases, and relevant programming languages.
- Proficiency in conveying ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project progress.
- Familiarity with the business processes, workflows, and organizational structures within the industry.
- Capability to identify problems, analyze them, and propose effective solution.
