Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Field Technician based out of our South Texas Business unit located in Alice, TX. As a Senior Field Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing natural gas engines and compressors. Your skills and dedication will contribute to the continued success of our operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute skilled tasks encompassing various levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a diverse range of natural gas engines and compressors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot compressor system failures across all levels, ensuring optimal compression equipment performance.
- Adhere to all company and customer policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance.
- Complete all necessary paperwork as directed.
- Continuously refine and develop your skills in alignment with technological advancements within the industry.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and customer-oriented image.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in compressor and engine maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of surface production equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both electronic and mechanical control problems.
- Competency in operating various diagnostic tools and possession of a full set of hand tools in accordance with company standards.
- Willingness to travel for both short and extended periods.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and respond to call outs.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Willingness to attend training classes and seminars as required.
- General computer skills and the ability to utilize the computer as a diagnostic tool.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Formal vocational training is preferred.
- A minimum of ten years of experience in engine and compressor maintenance.
- Experience with Caterpillar and Waukesha engines.
- Familiarity with Ariel, GE, and other gas compressors.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- CAT Training is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting of heavy objects.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Work in varying hot and cold environments.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 70 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
