About the Company:
Our client is a leading Japanese second-hand store, set to open its first Hong Kong location in mid-2025. They will introduce a fresh and exciting concept in second-hand fashion and lifestyle products to the local market.

Position: Accounting Officer
Location: Mong Kok
Salary: HKD 18K- 25K/M (depends on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and Organize Accounting Data
    • Gather and check daily sales reports, expense information, and purchasing data from stores.
    • Review data for different payment methods (POS, online store, cash, credit card, etc.).
    • Organize and manage receipts, invoices, and payment records.
    • Help prepare data files for the accounting firm.
  2. Bank-Related Work
    • Set up bank transfers for expense reimbursements and supplier payments.
    • Support the process for adding or changing bank accounts (including managing authorized signers).
    • Prepare documents and handle applications for opening new bank accounts (at the bank counter or online).
    • Coordinate with cash collection service providers for scheduling.
    • Check monthly bank transactions and match them with the accounting records.
  3. Cash Management and Sales Verification
    • Compare each stores reported daily sales with actual cash deposits.
    • Confirm that credit card and electronic payment sales match the deposit records.
    • Check store cash balances against reported amounts when needed.
    • Support cash processing and reporting related to inventory and cash flow.
  4. Assist with Accounting Tasks
    • Enter and check expense details.
    • Share documents with the accounting firm and follow up on deadlines.
    • Help prepare profit and loss reports for each store.
  5. Support External Coordination
    • Communicate with the accounting firm (send data, answer questions).
    • Coordinate with banks, cash collection companies, and internal teams by email and phone.
    • Schedule and provide documents for outsourced bookkeeping and settlement tasks.
  6. Other Support and Ad Hoc Tasks
    • Help your supervisor with data collection and report preparation.
    • Answer staff inquiries about expense reimbursement rules.
    • Assist with urgent payment, refund, or transfer issues as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience managing local bank accounts, handling payments and deposits, and negotiating with bank representatives.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance.
  • Ability to organize internal sales, expenses, and purchase data into accounting records.
  • Intermediate or above Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).
  • Native Cantonese speaker with good command of Mandarin, Japanese (JLPT N1), and English.
