Financial Controller, Japan

*Key Responsibilities:*

As the Financial Controller for Japan branch, you will be responsible for:

- Supervising a finance team on all finance operations

- Preparing monthly management reports and presenting to senior management and group finance HQ

- Managing month-end closing and consolidation of local and overseas business units on a timely basis

- Reviewing monthly financial reports, conducting analysis, and providing commentary

- Ensuring all accounting and reporting are prepared in accordance with local GAAP, IFRS, and group policies and procedures (where applicable)

- Working closely with commercial teams and preparing financial evaluations to support business development, including new store projects

- Leading and preparing the annual budget and long- and short-term financial forecasts

- Arranging and ensuring the timely completion of annual financial audits (local and group) and tax returns

- Sharing financial accounting knowledge and mentoring team members

- Participating in ad-hoc projects as required

*Qualifications:*

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

- A degree in accounting or a related field

- CPA qualification

- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a multinational environment, preferably in a retail company

- Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems; implementation experience is a plus

- Strong team player with a mature and proactive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and an analytical mind

- Fluency in written & spoken English and Japanese
