About the job Mechanical Site Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Site Engineer to join their team at the Lamma Power Station. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer to contribute to significant projects within a major power generation facility.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Mechanical Engineer / Senior Project Engineer in the preparation and execution of various projects and works.
  • Oversee, plan, and monitor site progress and coordinate all on-site activities.
  • Conduct thorough site supervision, including detailed record-keeping and regular inspections.
  • Attend site meetings, proactively identify potential engineering problems, and propose effective solutions.
  • Monitor and enforce occupational safety standards and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external parties on all technical matters.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as assigned by the client's engineering team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid knowledge in project engineering, coordination, and contract administration.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills for effectively dealing with working parties and contractors.
  • Practical experience and technical knowledge of power plant equipment is a significant advantage.
  • Possession of valid certificates recognized by the Hong Kong Labour Department, such as Mandatory Basic Safety Training (Construction Work) and Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation.
  • Familiarity with relevant local and international regulations, procedures, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office, AutoCAD, and BIM.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.

Working Conditions

  • Working Hours: 9:00 AM 5:45 PM (Every other Saturday from 9:00 AM 5:00 PM). Includes a one-hour lunch break.

  • Commute: Transportation to the site will be provided via a client-arranged ferry.
