Our client is a well-established global logistics company. They are currently seeking a proactive and experienced IT professional to oversee their Greater China IT operations. In this role, you will lead a regional team across multiple cities, drive key system implementations, and act as the bridge between the regional offices and the global headquarters. Position:Regional IT Manager (Greater China)

Location: Cheung Sha Wan

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage IT operations and support for branches across the Greater China region.
  • Manage a regional IT team of approximately 12 to 13 members located in Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
  • Lead the implementation of logistics systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other general software (e.g., AI tools, Microsoft technologies).
  • Proactively propose IT solutions and strategies to improve regional business operations rather than just executing requested tasks.
  • Participate in bi-weekly web meetings with the global IT Head in Japan, and attend an annual in-person IT conference in Japan.
  • Conduct client visits in Hong Kong and Guangdong to present IT solutions, discuss technical details, and gather requirements.
  • Travel periodically to Greater China branches for IT support, team management, and regular audits (1-2 nights per trip, every 6-12 months).

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in an IT role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
  • Solid team management experience, preferably in a regional capacity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (SQL, PowerBI, M365). No hands-on programming or coding is required.
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Mandarin is a must (Japanese language skill is not required).
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to confidently explain technical concepts to clients during visits.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to propose new ideas.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Hong Kong (Visa sponsorship is not available).
