JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize databases critical to our business applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases, OLTP/OLAP, data warehousing, and Linux/Windows environments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring database performance, scalability, and reliability for our applications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer and optimize MPP databases such as Teradata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of OLTP and OLAP systems.
Design, implement, and maintain data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
Optimize ETL pipelines and ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
Analyze and optimize complex queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues.
Manage database environments on Linux and Windows platforms.
Oversee system upgrades, patching, and security configurations for database servers.
Work closely with application developers to ensure efficient database integration.
Coordinate with data engineering teams to align database structures with analytics needs.
Set up monitoring tools to track database performance and usage.
Provide regular reports on database health, capacity planning, and uptime.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in MPP database technologies such as Teradata, Snowflake, or Greenplum.
Strong understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems.
Extensive experience with data warehousing concepts and tools.
Skilled in Linux and Windows server environments.
Minimum of 5 years in database administration or a related field.
Demonstrated experience managing databases in a production environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
