JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong domain experience in upstream trading and gas platforms to support data transformation and analytics reporting initiatives. This role requires expertise in translating trading-specific KPIs and exception-handling logic from legacy systems into Power BI, with a focus on high-volume, transactional reporting. The candidate will support the scoping of proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts and serve as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Map existing trading analytics logic and reporting flows from legacy platforms to Power BI, ensuring performance and scalability.
  • Capture and analyze IGUPT-specific KPIs, including complex data flows and exception-handling logic.
  • Assess and validate the feasibility of integrating large, high-volume tables into the target reporting platform.
  • Contribute to the scope and design of proof-of-concept (PoC) reporting solutions for upstream trading analytics.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather detailed requirements and understand current-state challenges.
  • Document user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications aligned with business goals.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate and efficient report migration and transformation.
  • Ensure alignment with data governance, compliance, and operational performance standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in energy trading, upstream, or gas markets.
  • Solid understanding of transactional data and exception-handling mechanisms in high-volume environments.
  • Proven experience working with Power BI and transitioning reporting logic from legacy tools.
  • Strong domain knowledge in upstream trading platforms and relevant KPI structures.
  • Experience working with technical teams to validate data availability and performance in reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
