SENIOR ELECTRICAL SPECIALIST

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical / Protection Engineer with 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, and/or Utility Transmission projects. The role will focus on power system protection, protection relay systems, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, fault analysis, and network studies. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with protection relays and systems from ABB, Siemens, GE, and MiCOM, along with experience in utility transmission, substations, and industrial power networks. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, technical reporting ability, and a strong commitment to HSE standards.

JOB RESPINSIBILITIES:

• Perform power system studies, network analysis, fault analysis, and short-circuit studies.
• Troubleshoot and analyze power system protection and relay-related issues.
• Review protection schemes, coordination studies, and relay settings.
• Review, test, commission, and troubleshoot protection relays and protection systems.
• Work with protection relays including ABB, Siemens, GE, and MiCOM.
• Support power system reliability improvement initiatives and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Provide technical support during electrical incidents, equipment trips, system disturbances, and blackouts.
• Analyze protection system performance and identify potential system vulnerabilities.
• Support testing and commissioning activities for substations, utility transmission systems, and electrical protection systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, incident findings, root-cause analysis, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with electrical, operations, maintenance, and utility teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all activities comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, HSE, and relevant industry standards.
• Maintain strong focus on electrical safety, HSE requirements, and operational reliability.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Utility Transmission, or related industries.
• Strong experience in power system protection, protection coordination, and reliability improvement.
• Proven experience with protection relays, preferably ABB, Siemens, GE, and MiCOM.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay settings, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in fault analysis, short-circuit studies, and power system/network analysis.
• Experience with utility transmission systems and substations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and relevant electrical industry standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to investigate electrical incidents and system failures.
• Excellent technical report-writing and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to HSE requirements and electrical safety practices.
