We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the engineering, design, and execution of electrical systems for large-scale industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering solutions across all project phases, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting safe and reliable power system design and implementation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead electrical engineering and design activities for industrial projects.
  • Manage the preparation and review of electrical design deliverables including:
    • Power generation and distribution system design
    • Load schedules and power balance studies
    • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
    • Cable sizing and cable routing layouts
    • Electrical equipment specifications (transformers, switchgear, MCCs)
    • Earthing and grounding system design
    • Lightning protection system design
    • Lighting design calculations and layouts
    • Short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, and arc flash studies
  • Develop, maintain, and manage electrical engineering databases and documentation using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), ensuring data consistency and integration across multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, and HSE teams to ensure proper electrical integration.
  • Review and approve engineering contractor and vendor documents including datasheets, drawings, and test reports.
  • Support technical discussions with clients, consultants, licensors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops.
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor data reviews.
  • Provide engineering support during installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers and designers.
  • Ensure project schedules, quality requirements, and engineering deliverables are completed within agreed budgets.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or oil & gas projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Electrical Engineer or equivalent role.
  • Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design (DD) phases of projects.
  • Solid knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems in industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes including IEC, IEEE, NEC, and relevant project specifications.
  • Experience in electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, generators, and HV/LV distribution systems.
  • Understanding of grounding, earthing, lightning protection, hazardous area classification, and electrical safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in engineering software including SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and other electrical engineering and design software.
  • Experience with electrical engineering database management, cable management, equipment indexing, and multidisciplinary design integration using SPEL is highly preferred.
  • Experience in brownfield and greenfield project environments (Preferred).
  • Exposure to EPC contractor and consultant project execution environments (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction support, commissioning, and site electrical troubleshooting activities (Preferred).
