TELECOM ENGINEER
About the job TELECOM ENGINEER
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer to support offshore platform project. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in industrial telecommunications systems integrated with automation and control environments, along with hands-on experience in offshore project execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, review, and implement industrial telecom systems supporting automation and control operations.
- Interface and coordinate with ICSS (Integrated Control & Safety Systems) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
- Review telecom system designs, engineering deliverables, and vendor documents.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for telecom equipment selection, technical clarifications, and approvals.
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities for telecom systems.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including instrumentation, electrical, and process engineering.
- Provide technical support during offshore execution phases.
- Fiber Optic Communication Systems
- Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP)
- Telecommunication Systems for Offshore Platforms (PAGA, CCTV, Radio, Telephone Systems)
- Integration with ICSS/DCS platforms
- Network architecture and data communication protocols
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications / Electronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas / offshore projects
- Proven experience working on offshore platforms
- Strong knowledge of industrial telecom and automation integration
- Experience in design review, vendor coordination, and project execution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural offshore environment
- Previous experience on EPC projects
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, ITU, etc.)
- Offshore certification (BOSIET/HUET) is an advantage
