The Electrical Designer is responsible for developing FEED and detailed engineering deliverables for ADNOC Onshore oil & gas projects. The role supports electrical engineering activities by producing high-quality design drawings, layouts, and documentation in compliance with ADNOC specifications, international codes, and project requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare electrical design deliverables during FEED and Detail Engineering phases for ADNOC Onshore projects
  • Develop and update: Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Electrical layout drawings (substations, equipment rooms, cable routing), Lighting layouts, earthing & lightning protection layouts, Cable schedules and cable routing drawings, Load lists and electrical equipment layouts
  • Assist engineers in preparing technical documents and design calculations
  • Use AutoCAD / SmartPlant Electrical / ETAP / AVEVA / E3D (as applicable) to generate accurate drawings
  • Ensure designs comply with: ADNOC Engineering Standards (AES), IEC, IEEE, BS standards, Project specifications and HSE requirements
  • Incorporate vendor data, site conditions, and interdisciplinary inputs
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers, other discipline designers, and project teams
  • Participate in model reviews, design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, and constructability reviews
  • Revise drawings based on comments from ADNOC, PMC, or internal QA/QC
  • Ensure all deliverables meet project quality requirements and document control procedures
  • Maintain consistency between drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Support electrical material take-offs (MTOs) and BOQs

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical design for oil & gas projects
  • Proven experience in FEED and Detail Engineering
  • Mandatory experience on ADNOC Onshore projects or ADNOC-approved consultants/contractors
  • Strong knowledge of: LV/MV/HV systems, Substations and power distribution systems, Lighting, earthing, lightning protection, Hazardous area classification (basic understanding)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant electrical design tools
  • Familiarity with ADNOC standards, IEC, IEEE codes
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet tight project deadlines
  • Strict adherence to ADNOC HSE policies and procedures
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout project execution
