About the Role:
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented BIM Lead (Mechanical & Plumbing) with 5–8 years of professional experience, specializing in fabrication-ready modelling, international project standards, and advanced coordination workflows.
Youll play a key role in end-to-end model development, integration, and delivery across large-scale MEP projects, including commercial, healthcare, residential, and infrastructure sectors. Your primary focus will be the creation of intelligent BIM content, discipline coordination, and LOD 200/500 modelling that meets the rigorous requirements of US and UK construction practices.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage LOD 200–500 BIM models for Plumbing & Mechanical services in Revit.
- Apply fabrication logic and constructability standards to develop models ready for prefabrication and onsite installation.
- Lead BIM coordination Meetings using Navisworks Manage and BIM 360/ACC for clash detection, issue tracking, and resolution.
- Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for precise modelling output.
- Create and maintain Revit families (parametric & nested) aligned with project specs and content libraries.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design and construction teams in multi-time zone environments.
- Deliver accurate shop drawings, Sleeve drawings, Spool drawings, and coordinated layouts from BIM models.
- Conduct model audits, QA/QC reviews, and update models based on RFIs, ASIs, and field markups.
- Ensure compliance with USA (SMACNA, UPC, IPC) and UK (CIBSE, BS) standards and client-specific BIM protocols.
Key Skills & Tools:
- Software Expertise: Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks Manage, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ReCap.
- Modelling Detail: LOD 200–500, Point-based modelling, Spooling, Tagging, Phasing, and Sheet setup.
- Standards & Workflows: Deep knowledge of US & UK codes, BEPs, Cobie, Uniclass, and IFC structures.
- Fabrication Experience: Understanding of ductwork, pipework, hanger supports, insulation, and prefabrication standards.
- Coordination: Clash management, model federation, interdisciplinary coordination, and issue tracking.
- BIM Content Creation: Family templates, shared parameters, type catalogues, and visibility controls.
Additional Desirable Skills (Bonus):
- Proficiency in Revit Fabrication Parts, Syque, or CADmep workflows.
- Experience in Scan-to-BIM and working with Point Cloud (Recap, Leica, Faro) data.
- Exposure to ISO 19650 workflows, Common Data Environment (CDE), and Digital Twin principles.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation using Dynamo for Revit or Python.
