We are looking for an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality of electrical installation works for a Data Center / Mission Critical project. The role will be responsible for implementing project QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, reviewing electrical installations and technical documentation, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, applicable standards, and client requirements. The candidate should have strong experience in Data Center / Mission Critical projects and hands-on knowledge of critical electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators, ATS, MDB/SMDB/MSB, busduct/busbar systems, batteries, earthing, lighting, and electrical containment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and maintain project QA/QC procedures and quality requirements for electrical works.
  • Inspect electrical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and inspection procedures.
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems and equipment, including:
    • HV/LV switchgear and distribution systems
    • Transformers
    • MSB, MDB and SMDB panels
    • UPS systems and battery systems
    • Diesel generators
    • ATS/STS systems
    • Busduct / busbar systems
    • MCCs and distribution boards
    • Cable trays, containment and cable installation
    • Earthing and lightning protection systems
    • Lighting and small power systems
  • Coordinate with construction teams, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
  • Review Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), material certificates, test certificates, and technical documentation.
  • Verify that all electrical materials and equipment are approved and comply with project specifications.
  • Monitor electrical installation quality and identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
  • Raise and follow up on NCRs, observations, and corrective actions until satisfactory closure.
  • Witness and coordinate electrical testing activities, including insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, cable testing, protection relay testing, functional testing, and equipment testing.
  • Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams to ensure electrical systems are completed and ready for commissioning.
  • Support pre-functional checks, integrated testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure proper inspection and documentation of critical power systems and redundancy requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, quality documentation, and project quality dossiers.
  • Review electrical installation works for proper workmanship, cable routing, termination, labeling, identification, supports, clearances, and accessibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with project QA/QC requirements.
  • Participate in internal, consultant, and client quality audits.
  • Support preparation of as-built drawings, handover dossiers, inspection records, and final quality documentation.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, local regulations, client standards, and project specifications.
  • Prepare regular QA/QC reports and provide updates to the QA/QC Manager.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in Electrical QA/QC.
  • Proven experience in Data Center / Mission Critical projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in electrical MEP construction, installation, inspection, testing, and quality control.
  • Good knowledge of HV/LV electrical distribution and critical power systems.
  • Experience with transformers, HV/LV switchgear, MSB/MDB/SMDB, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, MCCs, busduct, batteries, earthing, and electrical containment.
  • Strong knowledge of ITPs, method statements, checklists, MIRs, WIRs, NCRs, material approvals, and quality documentation.
  • Experience coordinating and witnessing electrical testing and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Ability to review single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, shop drawings, specifications, material submittals, and technical documents.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation standards and applicable IEC, IEEE, NFPA/NEC, and project/client specifications.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Experience supporting testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project handover is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, reporting, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant QA/QC certifications such as ISO 9001, ASQ, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • UAE/GCC experience on large-scale Data Center or mission-critical projects will be an added advantage
