The Subsea Control System and Umbilical Engineer will focus on engineering subsea umbilicals and control systems for SSIV (Subsea Safety Isolation Valve) systems within EPCI projects. This role demands deep expertise in subsea power, control systems, and umbilical engineering across various project phases (FEED, bid, detailed engineering) and a thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations. The engineer will be responsible for guiding the design, manufacturing, and testing processes and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure project alignment and technical accuracy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and manage subsea umbilicals and control systems for SSIV systems, adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee the design, manufacturing, and testing phases for subsea umbilicals, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure cohesive project execution, addressing any design-related challenges.
- Serve as the technical authority for subsea umbilicals and control systems, managing technical queries and providing engineering support across various EPCI project stages.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years (engineer level) or 15 years (lead level) of experience in subsea power, control systems, and umbilicals engineering.
- Extensive experience in subsea cable and umbilical design, manufacturing, and testing across FEED, bid, and detailed engineering phases.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices related to subsea cables and umbilicals.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Proven track record in executing EPCI projects for Middle Eastern clients such as Saudi Aramco, Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Gas (QG), or ADNOC.
- Experience with subsea flexible pipes and subsea valve systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.
- Proactive and inquisitive, with a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and developments in subsea control systems.
- Passion for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a supportive learning environment.
