PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for school projects and other MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) installations. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers from other disciplines, and project managers to deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable mechanical solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System Design and Development: Design HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems for school projects based on project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Technical Calculations: Perform load calculations, ductwork sizing, pipe sizing, and other technical calculations to ensure system performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Equipment Selection: Select appropriate equipment and materials based on project requirements, energy efficiency considerations, and budget constraints.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall building design.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates and budgets for mechanical systems and ensure adherence to budget constraints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that mechanical installations meet design specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents as required for project documentation and client deliverables.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to pursue licensure.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering for MEP projects, preferably including experience in school projects or similar institutional buildings.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work effectively under deadlines.
