PROCESS ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of the Process Designer role in an engineering consultancy for midstream and downstream oil and gas projects is to deliver high-quality process design solutions that meet client and project requirements. The Process Designer is responsible for creating and reviewing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), performing process simulations, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the process designs. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project execution, adhering to industry standards and best practices, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. The Process Designer plays a critical role in optimizing process efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness, contributing to the successful delivery of engineering projects in the oil and gas sector

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Perform process simulations, heat and material balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Ensure process designs comply with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Provide technical support during project planning, design, and review meetings.
• Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and ensure their expectations are met.
• Provide input and support for process design and optimization, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Assist in conducting technical reviews and audits of process designs.
• Resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions to complex process challenges.
• Ensure all process design work complies with industry standards, company policies, and project requirements.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of process design activities.
• Assist in mentoring and training junior process designers and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available and willing to relocate in Qatar
• MUST have experience working in Engineering Consultancy
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process design, specifically in midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Proficient in process simulation and design software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, AutoCAD, SmartPlant).
• Strong understanding of process design principles and industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ANSI).
• Experience in developing PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
