PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering, focusing on instrumentation and control systems within the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing instrumentation layouts, control panels, and associated systems for midstream and downstream projects. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop detailed instrumentation and control system designs based on project specifications, industry standards (e.g., API, ASME), and client requirements.

- Create instrumentation layout drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and other technical documentation using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.

- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment on design objectives, functionality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Conduct and review calculations, simulations, and analyses related to instrumentation design and control system performance.

- Interpret and modify P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and other engineering drawings to integrate instrumentation designs accurately.

- Provide technical support during the procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.

- Stay abreast of technological advancements in instrumentation and control systems to recommend innovative solutions and maintain industry best practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation design within the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on midstream and downstream projects.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for creating detailed design drawings.

- Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems, and relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, NEC).

- Experience in designing control panels, PLC systems, and SCADA systems preferred.

- Ability to perform technical analyses and solve complex problems related to instrumentation design.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to the Oil & Gas industry.
