Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and calibrate hydraulic models for surface water networks using industry-standard software tools such as InfoWorks ICM (1D/2D models).
  • Utilize GIS, spreadsheets, and other modelling tools to support model development, calibration, and analysis.
  • Perform detailed hydraulic analysis of surface water systems, including capacity assessments and performance evaluations under various conditions.
  • Conduct scenario planning to assess the impact of different events such as rainfall, development changes, and operational shifts on surface water systems.
  • Support development assessments, including flood risk evaluation, drainage capacity, and environmental considerations.
  • Perform operational scenario planning to optimize surface water infrastructure performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports for modelling projects, ensuring they are suitable for both technical review and client presentation.
  • Clearly communicate modelling results and recommendations, addressing both the needs of engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, urban planners, and environmental specialists, to integrate hydraulic models into broader project designs.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and clients, ensuring clear communication and the successful delivery of projects.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic modelling for surface water infrastructure projects.
  • Must have InfoWorks ICM: Extensive experience using InfoWorks ICM for 1D and 2D surface water models.
  • Working Experience with StormCAD, Civil3D and similary hydraulic modelling tools
  • Proven experience in hydraulic model build, verification, and calibration using industry-standard modelling tools.
  • Experience designing surface water networks for planned developments and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards related to water infrastructure design and flood risk management.
  • Familiarity with projects in Qatar or the GCC region is highly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong report writing skills, with the ability to present complex modelling outcomes clearly and concisely.
  • A team player with a proactive approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
