We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to work at our site office in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, focusing on the Engineering Phase of energy and substation projects. The ideal candidate must have 8-12 years of experience, with at least 3 years working on Saudi ARAMCO projects, and be immediately available.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Proficient in FEED and Detail Engineering for substation and industrial projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of F&G instrumentation systems including fire detectors, gas detectors, alarms, and suppression systems.
  • Expertise in developing and designing:
    • Instrument Loop Diagrams (ILDs) and Wiring Diagrams for F&G systems.
    • Hook-up Drawings, instrument index, datasheets, and I/O lists.
    • Integration of F&G instrumentation with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
    • Substation instrumentation layouts, cable routing, and cable schedules.
  • Familiar with interfacing instrumentation with electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) assessments and calculations.
  • Conversant in procurement activities, including preparation of requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
  • Knowledgeable in international standards and codes: ISA, NFPA, API, IEC, and NEC.
  • Experience in ARAMCO projects and compliance with their specific standards for F&G instrumentation.
  • Conduct FEED reviews to ensure F&G design compliance with ARAMCO and international standards.
  • Develop and verify Instrument Data Sheets, Wiring Diagrams, and detailed engineering deliverables.
  • Perform Cause and Effect Analysis (C&E) for F&G systems in substations and industrial facilities.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integration of F&G instrumentation with electrical systems in substations.
  • Interface with vendors and review F&G instrumentation technical documentation to ensure design compliance.
  • Provide inputs for Material Take Off (MTO) for instrumentation and F&G systems.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of F&G instrumentation, including field verification of installations.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure proper execution of F&G instrumentation projects and provide technical support during commissioning.
  • Ensure designs align with project milestones and adhere to HSE standards for hazardous environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with F&G systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in instrumentation and F&G design tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with at least 3 years on Saudi ARAMCO projects.
  • Proven experience in the engineering phase of energy or substation projects, specifically in instrumentation design and development.
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools and industry standards related to instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi Aramco standards and instrumentation system integration in energy and substation facilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, capable of working effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Immediately available and willing to relocate to Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
