The Field Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing field engineering services to support the construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities of onshore oil and gas facilities. This role will ensure that construction works are executed in accordance with IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and specifications while coordinating between the Implementation Contractor, COMPANY site engineers, and EPCM Contractor. The Field Engineering Manager will also oversee the quality, accuracy, and timely submission of all field engineering documents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and provide direction for all field engineering services, ensuring construction activities by the Implementation Contractor align with IFC drawings.
- Oversee the preparation of calculation notes, sketches, redline markups, erection drawings, and as-built drawings in coordination with the Implementation Contractor.
- Review and approve technical documents, method statements, and drawings prepared by the Implementation Contractor, ensuring they meet project standards.
- Ensure that any requested changes are supported by detailed calculations and updated documentation.
- Coordinate with the COMPANY site engineers for document approval and ensure compliance with ADNOC Onshore procedures.
- Review and approve redline markups prepared by the Implementation Contractor, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to ADNOC Onshore procedures for as-built drawings.
- Maintain records of all redline markups and ensure they are in compliance with project specifications.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Implementation Contractor, COMPANY site engineers, EPCM Contractors, and third-party vendors, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with approved vendor IFC drawings.
- Ensure all field engineering issues and clarifications are addressed in a timely manner by coordinating with the EPCM Contractors engineering team.
- Participate in and provide input for project workshops such as constructability, SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations), PHSER (Process Hazard and Safety Engineering Review), and PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review).
- Attend daily, weekly, and monthly project review meetings and contribute progress updates, reports, and field engineering inputs.
- Lead site walkthroughs for mechanical completion, PSSR, and energization of systems for commissioning.
- Ensure closure of engineering punch items, working independently or in support of the EPCM Contractor where necessary.
- Ensure all field engineering activities are conducted in compliance with the project's Quality and HSE plans.
- Promote and enforce ADNOC Onshore safety and quality protocols during all stages of the project.
- Supervise the preparation of the Scope of Work (SOW) for handover of final documentation to third-party contractors, in line with ADNOC Onshore Engineering Procedures and Guidelines for electronic submission.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all final documentation for project close-out.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in field engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position within onshore oil and gas projects.
- Previous experience working on ADNOC Onshore projects or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
- Strong expertise in field engineering activities including construction oversight, document review, and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with IFC drawings, redline markups, and as-built procedures.
- Proven ability to lead field engineering teams and manage vendor and contractor coordination.
- Comprehensive understanding of ADNOC Onshore procedures for documentation, project quality, and safety standards.
- Experience leading construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities on large-scale projects.
