PURPOSE OF THR ROLE:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception through to completion. This role includes reviewing designs, coordinating with various teams, preparing procurement packages, and ensuring that all mechanical systems meet project specifications and industry standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for projects.
  • Review and evaluate mechanical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Prepare and review procurement packages for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that technical specifications and requirements are accurately included.
  • Assist in vendor selection and procurement processes to meet project needs.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and electrical engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among different engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Review shop drawings and technical submissions from subcontractors to ensure they align with project specifications and design criteria.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for any required revisions or improvements.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards in mechanical systems and components.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Address and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems that arise during project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and subcontractors as needed.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in project management and system design.
  • Proven experience in preparing procurement packages, reviewing technical submissions, and managing complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
