PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The BIM Manager will be responsible for leading the BIM process across multiple projects, ensuring the effective integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across all phases of design, construction, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in design consulting, with significant experience managing BIM teams, workflows, and technology integration. The role requires leadership, strategic planning, and advanced technical knowledge in BIM tools and processes, ensuring the optimization of project outcomes, from concept through to completion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the implementation and execution of BIM strategies and workflows across all projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices across multidisciplinary teams (architecture, structural, MEP, etc.).
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of BIM execution plans, ensuring that all project deliverables are aligned with project goals and contractual obligations.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the BIM team, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, and consultants to ensure BIM processes are properly integrated into the design and construction phases.
  • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, ensuring that model integration and clash detection processes are followed and that any issues are resolved proactively.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to ensure that accurate, high-quality BIM models are produced and maintained, ensuring full compliance with local and international standards.
  • Manage the selection, implementation, and optimization of BIM software tools and platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.), ensuring that they are effectively used by the team.
  • Coordinate with IT and software vendors to ensure that all BIM-related technologies and tools are operational, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Support project teams in using BIM for quantity take-offs, scheduling, and cost estimation, integrating these into the overall project management system.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in BIM technology and trends, applying these advancements to improve project delivery and efficiency.
  • Manage and report on BIM-related project milestones, progress, and issues, ensuring that project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Assist in the development of client presentations, proposals, and reports related to BIM methodologies, showing the value of BIM integration in project delivery.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have 15+ years of experience in BIM management, with a preference for a background in design consulting and work experience in the GCC (ideally UAE).
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and other related tools.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 19650, COBie).
  • Extensive experience with multidisciplinary BIM coordination, including architecture, structural engineering, MEP, and construction teams.
  • Proven experience leading and managing BIM teams, ensuring high levels of performance, collaboration, and technical competence.
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows, design processes, and project management in a design consulting environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams and client relationships.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
  • Familiarity with local UAE regulations and industry standards related to BIM and construction.
