The Subsea Structural Engineer will be responsible for executing and managing detailed structural and piping design and analysis for subsea structures across various project stages. This role demands specialist skills in structural and piping design engineering, covering design codes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The engineer will work closely with drafting, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expert knowledge in subsea structural and piping design, ensuring compliance with industry codes, legislative standards, and best engineering practices.
  • Independently manage the engineering activities for assigned structures packages, ensuring delivery within project schedules and budgets.
  • Perform detailed structural and piping analysis, including calculations for lifting, transportation, installation, and in-place phases of subsea structures such as valve skids, ILTs, and sleepers.
  • Collaborate with the draftsman team to accurately capture designs in fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare design bases, design reports, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for subsea structures.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines (pipeline, geotechnical, materials, flow assurance, installation) to integrate requirements and respond to feedback.
  • Provide technical input for procurement activities related to structural and piping materials.
  • Ensure awareness of contractual requirements and communicate deviations to the responsible engineer as needed.
  • Proactively communicate any need for input or changes affecting design activities and project timelines.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in subsea structural design and analysis within Bid and Execution phases of EPCI projects.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices for structural and piping design (API, AISC, ISO, ASME, DNV, Noble Denton).
  • Proficient in structural and piping design software (SACS, ANSYS/ABAQUS, Mathcad) and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of subsea components, including flanges, piping, and valves.
  • Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with the execution of offshore EPCI projects.
  • Familiarity with fabrication yard environments.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, monitor, and manage workload effectively.
