The Senior Field Telecom Engineer will lead and manage telecommunications field engineering activities on a major onshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications systems and ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards. This role requires extensive knowledge of telecom systems in the oil and gas sector, and previous experience with ADNOC onshore projects or similar major oil and gas projects in the Middle East is essential.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and execute field engineering activities for telecom systems, including installation, configuration, and commissioning on an onshore oil and gas site.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure telecom systems align with project specifications, industry standards, and ADNOC requirements.
- Provide technical oversight for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and system integration for telecom networks, fiber optics, radio, satellite, CCTV, PA/GA, and other communication systems.
- Develop and review engineering documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Interface with client representatives and stakeholders to provide technical support and ensure project objectives are met on schedule.
- Support project management in resolving technical issues, providing input for project planning, and contributing to project risk assessments.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and quality audits to monitor and report on project progress and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and ADNOC safety guidelines at all times.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of field engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years working on ADNOC Onshore projects or similar major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems used in the oil and gas sector, including fiber optics, satellite, radio, SCADA, CCTV, PA/GA systems, and IP networks.
- Excellent technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under challenging field conditions.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements for telecommunications in oil and gas projects.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in liaising with client representatives, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications in telecommunications engineering or project management are a plus.
