PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The HSE Manager (Night Shift) will oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance during night-time operations across residential construction projects, specifically villas and townhouses. This role requires a highly competent individual with experience in consulting companies, who can work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to local legal requirements and international safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee all HSE activities during night shifts, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
    • Conduct frequent site inspections to assess safety compliance during night operations.
    • Implement and enforce HSE policies in alignment with UAE regulations and international best practices.
    • Ensure adherence to project-specific safety standards and client requirements.
    • Conduct night-specific risk assessments, addressing challenges like lighting, visibility, and equipment usage.
    • Develop corrective measures to mitigate identified hazards.
    • Provide safety inductions and night-shift-specific training sessions for workers.
    • Promote a culture of safety awareness among night shift personnel.
    • Investigate any incidents, near-misses, or unsafe practices occurring during the night shift.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations for preventive actions.
    • Ensure compliance with UAE HSE legal requirements, including permits, documentation, and audits.
    • Prepare and submit nightly reports to senior management, summarizing HSE activities and concerns.
    • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment of safety objectives during night operations.

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
    • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certifications (required).
    • Additional certifications in construction safety or first aid (preferred).
    • 10+ years of overall HSE experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
    • Proven track record in consulting companies and residential construction projects, specifically villas and townhouses.
    • Strong understanding of UAE legal requirements and construction safety regulations.
    • Ability to manage night-shift operations with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage with night-shift workers and ensure compliance.
    • Proficiency in preparing HSE reports and documentation.
    • Knowledge of specific risks associated with night shifts in the construction industry.
    • Familiarity with auditing tools and software for safety compliance tracking.
    • Resilience and ability to work in a fast-paced night-shift environment.
