JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect and supervise all structural activities related to bridge construction, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of work, identifying any discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Review and verify contractor work methods, materials, and equipment for conformance with contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting observations, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure timely execution of works and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform material testing, evaluate test results, and ensure that materials meet project and industry standards.
  • Monitor structural integrity, including reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, and post-tensioning operations.
  • Assist in resolving any technical issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
  • Ensure proper documentation of as-built records, inspection checklists, and quality control reports.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of completed bridge structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural inspection, specifically in bridge construction within the GCC.
  • Experience working with design consulting firms is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of bridge construction processes, materials, and relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with local GCC regulations, building codes, and international standards related to bridge construction.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills, able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
