The Senior Pipeline Engineer will oversee and manage all pipeline engineering activities for onshore oil and gas projects. This role involves providing field engineering services, coordinating construction activities, and supporting the pre-commissioning and commissioning of newly installed pipeline facilities. The Lead Pipeline Engineer will ensure that all pipeline construction is executed in accordance with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, project specifications, and ADNOC Onshore procedures. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Implementation Contractors, EPCM Contractors, and COMPANY site engineers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive field engineering support for pipeline construction activities carried out by the Implementation Contractor.
  • Prepare detailed calculation notes, sketches, and technical drawings to support pipeline installation and modifications.
  • Review redlined drawings, erection drawings, and as-built drawings prepared by the Implementation Contractor to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFC drawings.
  • Review and approve all pipeline-related documents, drawings, and method statements prepared by the Implementation Contractor.
  • Develop calculation notes for any design changes requested by the Implementation Contractor to accommodate site-specific conditions.
  • Ensure ADNOC Onshore procedures are adhered to for the preparation and submission of as-built pipeline drawings.
  • Maintain and manage redline markup drawings, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurately reflect site modifications.
  • Coordinate closely with the Implementation Contractor to ensure all pipeline construction activities comply with IFC drawings and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with COMPANY site engineers and EPCM Contractors to obtain necessary approvals for redline markups and design changes before implementation.
  • Liaise with vendor technicians deployed onsite to verify that pipeline work is executed according to approved vendor IFC drawings and documentation.
  • Actively participate in constructability workshops, SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations), PHSER (Process Hazard and Safety Evaluation Review), PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review), and other relevant project-specific workshops.
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly progress review meetings, providing essential input and updates to ensure project milestones are met and issues are promptly addressed.
  • Participate in site walkthroughs for mechanical completion, PSSR, and the energization of pipeline systems during the commissioning phase.
  • Oversee the closure of engineering punch items, either independently or in support of the EPCM Contractor, ensuring all issues are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for the handover of final pipeline documentation to third-party contractors in accordance with ADNOC Onshore Engineering Procedures and electronic submission guidelines.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the projects Quality and HSE plans, maintaining high standards of safety and environmental stewardship throughout all pipeline engineering activities.
  • Lead and promote adherence to ADNOCs safety procedures during all phases of pipeline construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Pipeline Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in pipeline engineering within the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a lead role on onshore projects.
  • Proven track record of working on ADNOC Onshore projects or similar large-scale oil and gas projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of pipeline design, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting IFC drawings, redline markups, and as-built drawings.
  • Experience with pipeline calculation methods and the ability to perform design modifications as needed.
  • Familiarity with pipeline engineering software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of ADNOC Onshore engineering procedures, including documentation and electronic submission requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing interactions with third-party contractors and vendors.
