ID BIM MODELER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of the job of an Interior Design (ID) BIM Modeler is to leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to create and manage digital representations of interior spaces. This role involves translating interior design concepts into detailed, accurate, and data-rich 3D models using software like Revit and Navisworks. The key objectives are to ensure that the design is fully integrated with architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, identify and resolve potential clashes or conflicts, and provide a comprehensive visual and functional representation of the design for project stakeholders. This helps in enhancing collaboration, improving design accuracy, optimizing project workflows, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in interior design projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models for interior design projects using Revit.
• Ensure models comply with project standards and BIM execution plans.
• Model interior spaces, including furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
• Integrate interior design models with architectural, structural, and MEP models.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to ensure cohesive designs.
• Resolve design clashes and inconsistencies using Navisworks for clash detection.
• Generate accurate construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and specifications from BIM models.
• Maintain detailed and up-to-date project documentation.
• Prepare presentations and visualizations for client meetings.
• Perform quality checks on models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Implement and adhere to best practices for BIM modeling and project execution.
• Work closely with interior designers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively to ensure that design intent is accurately represented in the BIM models.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a design consultancy environment, with a focus on interior design.
• Proven experience in BIM modeling for interior design projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit software for BIM modeling.
• Strong knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
• Familiarity with other relevant software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D rendering tools.
• Understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations related to interior design.
• Must be locally available in the UAE.
