SR. ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical design activities and providing technical expertise for midstream and downstream projects within the oil and gas sector.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and oversee electrical design activities for midstream and downstream projects, including the design of electrical systems, equipment layouts, cable routing, and lighting systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation.
• Perform calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Prepare technical documentation including equipment specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
• Review vendor drawings and documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of projects, resolving any electrical engineering issues that arise.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on electrical design principles and practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the oil and gas industry and engineering consultancy firms.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards such as NEC, IEC, and IEEE.
• Experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, lighting systems, and instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality electrical designs within project timelines and budget constraints.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
