Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of foul sewerage systems, including gravity sewers, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure for both public and private sector projects.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrological analysis, including stormwater management and sewer capacity assessments.
- Manage project deliverables, ensuring high-quality standards, on-time completion, and compliance with project specifications and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring continuous professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including civil, structural, and environmental engineers) to deliver integrated solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including drainage, water quality standards, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and review detailed design reports, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration for construction phase activities.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, technologies, and best practices
Key Qualifications:
- Degree: A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the design and delivery of foul sewerage systems, preferably within a consultancy or engineering design environment.
- Proven experience in project management, design coordination, and technical leadership within the water engineering sector. Chartered
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) membership is highly desirable not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of design software and tools used in sewerage systems (e.g., MicroDrainage, SewerCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and environmental considerations in sewerage design.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders (e.g., local councils, water authorities, and environmental bodies).
