The Senior Field Instrumentation Engineer will manage and oversee field instrumentation activities for a major onshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. This role requires extensive field experience in instrumentation engineering, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation systems. Candidates with prior experience on ADNOC onshore projects or other major Middle Eastern oil and gas projects are preferred. The engineer will work closely with project teams to ensure instrumentation systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead field instrumentation engineering activities, including installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.
- Ensure that all field instrumentation systems comply with project requirements, ADNOC standards, and industry regulations.
- Provide technical support to contractors and subcontractors, overseeing quality control and ensuring compliance with project standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues on-site, including calibration, loop checking, and integration with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA).
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to confirm accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless integration of instrumentation systems within the project scope.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and quality assessments to monitor instrumentation installation progress and ensure adherence to HSE guidelines.
- Interface with client representatives and stakeholders to provide regular project updates and address technical inquiries.
- Prepare detailed field reports and documentation, including test reports, inspection reports, and punch lists.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for instrumentation-related activities.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of field instrumentation engineering experience, with at least 5 years on ADNOC Onshore or similar major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation systems in oil and gas, including transmitters, flow meters, control valves, analyzers, DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instrumentation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and other technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of industry standards (ISA, IEC) and regulatory requirements for instrumentation systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience coordinating with client representatives and cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications in instrumentation or control engineering are a plus.
