We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rotating Mechanical Engineer to join our team, for an exciting opportunity to support the design of a large-scale onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. This position requires an in-depth understanding of rotating equipment design, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other critical machinery, with a strong focus on Detailed Engineering. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all rotating equipment meets the projects technical specifications and operational requirements, contributing to the overall success of the project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide engineering support for rotating equipment across all phases of the project, from conceptual design to final commissioning.
  • Develop and review detailed mechanical designs for rotating machinery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and selection for pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment used in oil and gas facilities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of rotating equipment packages.
  • Lead the review and approval of vendor documentation related to rotating equipment, including technical specifications, drawings, and calculations.
  • Perform site inspections and provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and startup phases of the project.
  • Oversee the development of equipment datasheets, specifications, and purchase requisitions for rotating equipment packages.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve any technical challenges related to rotating machinery during design and execution phases.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with applicable local and international codes and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to rotating equipment during design and project execution phases.
  • Provide input into the maintenance strategy for rotating equipment to ensure long-term reliability and availability of equipment.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Upto 5-10 years of experience in rotating equipment design within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on onshore projects.
  • Extensive experience in detailed engineering for rotating machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, such as API, ASME, ISO, and ANSI codes, and their application in oil and gas projects.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bentley, or similar tools) and rotating equipment analysis tools.
  • Strong background in rotating equipment selection, sizing, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes related to rotating equipment.
  • Experience with site support and field installation activities.
  • Strong project execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across various disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in the Middle East, particularly in onshore oil and gas projects, is highly desirable.
