SR. PIPING ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the area of piping for midstream and downstream oil and gas projects. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the piping design and engineering activities for midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Develop and review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping layout drawings, and isometric drawings.
• Perform pipe stress analysis and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions.
• Oversee the selection of piping materials, valves, and fittings suitable for specific project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct technical reviews and audits of piping systems and designs.
• Resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions to complex piping challenges.
• Ensure all piping engineering work complies with industry standards, company policies, and project requirements.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of piping engineering activities.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.




KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available and willing to relocated in Qatar.
• Engineering Consultancy experience is a MUST.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in piping engineering, with a focus on midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• In-depth knowledge of piping design and engineering principles.
• Extensive experience in the engineering phase of midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Proficient in using piping design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, PDMS, SmartPlant).
• Strong understanding of industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in piping engineering for midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Strong proficiency in piping design and analysis software.
• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and codes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
