We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Cathodic Protection Engineer to take charge of all electrical and cathodic protection activities on-site for a large oil and gas project. The role requires extensive experience in both electrical systems and cathodic protection, particularly on ADNOC projects. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction, installation, and commissioning of electrical and cathodic protection systems, ensuring they meet ADNOC standards and project requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the electrical and cathodic protection team, providing technical direction for all on-site activities.
- Review and approve design drawings and specifications related to electrical systems and cathodic protection, ensuring compliance with Issued for Construction (IFC) standards and ADNOC regulations.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment, grounding systems, and cathodic protection systems for pipelines and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues related to electrical systems, power distribution, and cathodic protection.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure construction adheres to design standards, ADNOC safety guidelines, and best practices for corrosion prevention.
- Ensure proper coordination with contractors to meet project deadlines and resolve any engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with project management and HSE teams to maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.
- Participate in key project meetings, such as constructability reviews, progress meetings, and technical discussions.
- Manage the closure of engineering punch lists related to electrical and cathodic protection systems during the final stages of construction and commissioning.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and assist in generating progress reports.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Mandatory: Experience on ADNOC projects, specifically in electrical and cathodic protection systems.
- Minimum of 15-18 years of experience in electrical engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role, focusing on large-scale oil & gas or industrial projects.
- Strong expertise in electrical power distribution, grounding, and cathodic protection systems (CP).
- In-depth knowledge of ADNOC standards, electrical system design, installation practices, and cathodic protection technology.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, and other electrical design tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with contractors and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving on-site challenges.
