SR. PROCESS DESIGNER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Senior Process Designer role is to provide advanced technical expertise in process design for midstream and downstream oil and gas projects. The Senior Process Designer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and optimizing process designs to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of processing systems. This role involves leading the process design activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and project requirements. The Senior Process Designer will also mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest standards of process engineering within the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the process design activities for midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations, heat and material balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Ensure process designs comply with industry standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Provide technical support during project planning, design, and review meetings.
• Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and ensure their expectations are met.
• Provide expert advice on process design and optimization, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct technical reviews and audits of process designs.
• Resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions to complex process challenges.
• Ensure all process design work complies with industry standards, company policies, and project requirements.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of process design activities.
• Mentor and train junior process designers and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.




KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available and willing to relocate in Qatar
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in process design, specifically in the engineering phase of midstream or downstream oil and gas projects.
• Proficient in process simulation and design software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, AutoCAD, SmartPlant).
• Strong understanding of process design principles and industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ANSI).
• Extensive experience in developing PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Ability to conduct process optimization, heat and material balance calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
