The Senior Field Mechanical Engineer will oversee mechanical field engineering activities on a significant onshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and ensuring they meet project specifications, industry standards, and ADNOC requirements. Extensive experience in field engineering roles on ADNOC onshore or other major Middle Eastern oil and gas projects is essential.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage field mechanical engineering activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems such as piping, pumps, compressors, turbines, and static and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems and equipment are installed in line with project specifications, ADNOC standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control for contractors and subcontractors to ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality installations.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and inspections for mechanical systems, verifying operational performance and resolving technical issues on-site.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems effectively within the project scope.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and quality assessments to monitor progress and compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Interface with client representatives and project stakeholders, providing technical support and ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed field reports, including test results, inspection records, and documentation of project progress.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and timely completion of mechanical tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of field mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 years on ADNOC Onshore projects or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in the oil and gas industry, including piping, valves, pumps, compressors, turbines, and both static and rotating equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical installations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME) and ADNOC regulations related to mechanical systems in oil and gas projects.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with experience coordinating with client representatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering or project management are an advantage.
