SR. CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil and Structural Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting civil and structural design activities specifically tailored to Midstream and Downstream projects within the oil and gas sector.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop civil and structural designs tailored to Midstream and Downstream operations, including pipelines, terminals, refineries, storage facilities, and distribution networks.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations specific to Midstream and Downstream facilities.
• Perform structural analysis and design of foundations, buildings, tanks, and other structural elements using software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar tools, with a focus on durability, reliability, and safety.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines including process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation to ensure integration of civil and structural designs within the context of Midstream and Downstream operations.
• Review vendor drawings and documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications specific to Midstream and Downstream facilities.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing infrastructure, soil conditions, and environmental factors relevant to Midstream and Downstream operations, and incorporate findings into design proposals.
• Provide technical support during the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of Midstream and Downstream projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on civil and structural design principles and practices tailored to Midstream and Downstream operations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
•  Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and structural design, with a focus on Midstream and Downstream operations within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar tools, with experience in designing structures specific to Midstream and Downstream facilities.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes specific to Midstream and Downstream operations, such as API, ASCE, and ACI.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients in the context of Midstream and Downstream projects.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality civil and structural designs tailored to Midstream and Downstream operations within project timelines and budget constraints.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices specific to Midstream and Downstream projects.
