Job Openings ELECTRICAL BIM MODELER

About the job ELECTRICAL BIM MODELER

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Modeling: Create, update, and maintain accurate 3D models for electrical systems (lighting, power, fire alarm, data systems, etc.) using Revit MEP.
  • Model Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the electrical systems are well-coordinated with mechanical, structural, and other building systems.
  • Clash Detection: Use clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks) to identify and resolve conflicts between electrical systems and other disciplines to avoid delays during construction.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate 2D drawings, schematics, and layouts from BIM models, ensuring they comply with project specifications and local standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all electrical models adhere to design standards, client requirements, and relevant industry codes and guidelines.
  • Revit Family Creation: Develop custom Revit families for electrical components to improve model accuracy and facilitate coordination across teams.
  • Collaboration: Participate in regular coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams to review models, track progress, and address potential issues.
  • Revisions & Updates: Update the BIM model as needed based on design changes or project updates, ensuring all team members are working with the latest version.
  • Project Support: Assist the electrical engineering team by providing technical support and helping with model-related tasks during all project phases.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain organized project files, manage model versions, and ensure that all project documentation is up to date and accessible.

Key Qualification:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BIM modeling for electrical systems, preferably within a design consultancy environment.
  • Strong experience with Revit MEP for electrical system modeling (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar software for clash detection and model coordination.
  • Experience in producing construction documents and technical drawings from BIM models.:
  • Proficient in Revit MEP for modeling electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems design, including power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of BIM standards and protocols for electrical systems.
  • Ability to generate and manage 2D drawings and construction documentation from BIM models.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards for electrical design (e.g., NEC, local electrical codes, and regulations).
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work quality.
