Purpose of the Job:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation engineering, with specific expertise in designing and developing instrumentation systems for upstream oil & gas facilities. The role focuses on conceptual design, FEED development, and detailed engineering to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instrumentation systems for upstream oil & gas facilities, including wellhead platforms, offshore production facilities, and onshore processing plants, with a focus on FEED and detailed engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare comprehensive instrumentation specifications, datasheets, and design drawings adhering to project requirements, industry codes, and standards (e.g., API, ANSI, ISA).
  • Conduct hazardous area classification studies and ensure designs align with safety standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NEC, IECEx, ATEX).
  • Perform instrument selection based on project FEED requirements, ensuring compatibility with process needs, environmental conditions, and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration of instrumentation systems within the overall facility design.
  • Support procurement efforts by reviewing vendor proposals, preparing technical bid evaluations, and ensuring alignment with project specifications and design requirements.
  • Provide input for instrumentation system layouts, cable routing, and interface diagrams, ensuring efficient and optimized designs.
  • Validate vendor data and review engineering documents to ensure compliance with FEED and project-specific requirements.
  • Generate project deliverables, including instrument indexes, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams, while maintaining consistency with FEED documentation.
  • Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and progress updates to support stakeholder communication and ensure alignment with project goals.

Qualifications:

  • Immediate availability to join.
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of instrumentation engineering experience in upstream oil & gas projects with a focus on FEED and detailed design.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation design tools (e.g., SPI, SmartPlant Instrumentation, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and codes (e.g., API 500, ANSI/ISA 5.1).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality engineering results within schedule and budget
