The Senior Piping Engineer will be responsible for overseeing piping field engineering services for onshore oil and gas projects. The role will involve supporting construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and project specifications. The Lead Piping Engineer will collaborate with the Implementation Contractor and the COMPANY site engineer, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with ADNOC Onshore procedures, and adherence to project quality and HSE standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide field engineering services to support piping construction activities carried out by the Implementation Contractor, including preparation of calculation notes, sketches, and reviewing redline markups, erection, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are executed as per IFC drawings and accommodate any necessary site adjustments.
  • Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and method statements prepared by the Implementation Contractor, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform calculations and prepare documentation for any changes requested by the Implementation Contractor to reflect actual site conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of redline markups and ensure compliance with ADNOC Onshore procedures for as-built preparation and final documentation submission.
  • Coordinate with the Implementation Contractor, COMPANY site engineers, and EPCM contractors to ensure the construction and engineering works meet project requirements.
  • Oversee the coordination with vendor technicians to ensure that the piping installation aligns with approved vendor IFC drawings and specifications.
  • Approve redline markup and coordinate with EPCM Contractor and COMPANY site engineer for final implementation at the site.
  • Actively participate in project workshops including constructability reviews, SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations), PHSER (Process Hazard and Safety Engineering Review), PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review), and others.
  • Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly progress meetings, providing technical input and updates on the piping engineering activities.
  • Participate in site walkthroughs during mechanical completion, PSSR, and energization of systems as part of the commissioning process.
  • Ensure proper handover of documentation to third-party contractors as per ADNOC Onshore Engineering Procedure and Guidelines.
  • Lead the closure of engineering punch lists, either independently or in support of the EPCM Contractor as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project quality plans and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote compliance with ADNOC safety and quality standards during all phases of construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Actively engage in HSE meetings and promote a culture of safety on-site.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in piping engineering, with at least 5 years in a lead engineering role on onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Previous experience working on ADNOC Onshore projects or similar oil and gas facilities is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of piping design, IFC drawings, redline markup, and as-built drawing preparation.
  • Proficiency in preparing piping-related calculations and documentation to accommodate site-specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC Onshore procedures for documentation, redline markups, and final documentation submission.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including vendors and third-party contractors, for large-scale projects.
