About the job MEP BIM MODELER (REMOTE WORK)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems using BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD MEP, or similar tools.
- Create and update models for HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems based on project specifications.
- Perform clash detection using software like Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts between MEP systems and other building disciplines.
- Coordinate with structural and architectural teams to ensure the seamless integration of all systems within the overall building design.
- Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation plans derived from the BIM models.
- Ensure the models and drawings comply with local regulations, project standards, and client requirements.
- Update and maintain MEP BIM models throughout the design and construction phases, incorporating changes, revisions, and as-built data as required.
- Ensure models are accurate, up to date, and accessible to relevant project stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure the successful implementation of the MEP systems.
- Attend coordination meetings and design review sessions to present and discuss model progress and issues.
- Extract quantities and material lists from the BIM model for cost estimation, procurement, and project scheduling.
- Assist in creating 4D models by linking time-based schedules with BIM models for construction planning.
- Ensure that all MEP designs and models adhere to industry standards, building codes, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct regular quality checks and reviews of the BIM models for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Manage and maintain the BIM data associated with the MEP systems, including parametric details and specifications.
- Work on creating and managing family libraries, templates, and standardized practices within the BIM environment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of BIM workflows, methodologies, and processes followed during the project.
- Generate and submit regular reports on BIM model status, clash detection results, and updates to the project team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field such as Building Services Engineering, or CAD/BIM design.
- Advanced skills in Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP for creating and managing MEP systems models.
- Experience with Navisworks for clash detection and model coordination.
- Familiarity with additional software such as Dynamo, BIM 360, or Tekla would be a plus.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems design and construction, with at least 5 years of hands-on modeling experience in these fields.
- Practical understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing layouts, fire protection systems, and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve conflicts using clash detection software, ensuring efficient coordination between MEP systems and other building disciplines (architectural, structural).
- Ability to prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
