PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of procurement packages, reviewing designs received from consultants, and evaluating shop drawings submitted by subcontractors. This role ensures that electrical systems and components are designed and implemented according to project requirements and industry standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and prepare procurement packages for electrical systems and components.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that technical specifications and requirements are accurately included in the packages.
  • Provide input on vendor selection and procurement processes to ensure alignment with project needs.
  • Review electrical designs received from consultants to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Assess the feasibility, accuracy, and completeness of design submissions.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for design improvements or modifications as necessary.
  • Review shop drawings submitted by subcontractors to ensure compliance with project design criteria and specifications.
  • Verify the accuracy of electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment details.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to address any discrepancies or required revisions in the shop drawings.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design, procurement, and project execution.
  • Proven experience in preparing procurement packages and reviewing design and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
