We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Discipline Engineer (Field) – Mechanical to oversee and support all field mechanical engineering activities on a major onshore oil and gas project. The successful candidate will ensure that mechanical installation, testing, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise all onshore mechanical field engineering activities during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases
  • Ensure mechanical installation works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, commissioning, and operations teams to resolve field mechanical engineering issues
  • Review and provide technical support for the installation of static and rotating equipment, piping systems, packages, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and field design modifications
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Review and approve field technical queries (TQs), site instructions, method statements, and engineering change requests
  • Provide technical guidance on equipment installation, piping erection, alignment, hydrotesting, flushing, bolting, preservation, and mechanical completion activities
  • Participate in site inspections, walkdowns, punch list clearance, mechanical completion, and final acceptance activities
  • Liaise with the client, EPC teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on all mechanical field engineering matters

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 15–20 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with significant experience in onshore field engineering for oil and gas projects
  • Proven track record on large-scale onshore oil and gas, gas processing, or petrochemical projects
  • Strong expertise in mechanical installation, construction support, static and rotating equipment, piping systems, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities
  • Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and relevant client specifications
  • Experience with ADNOC Onshore projects is strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and multidisciplinary communication skills
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, field engineering procedures, and construction management practices.
