PLANNING ENGINEER

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules for FEED and project execution activities within Oil & Gas and Marine Onshore projects. The role will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, forecasting, schedule analysis, critical-path monitoring, and reporting, ensuring accurate schedule management and timely project delivery. The position will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and other multidisciplinary project teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for FEED and project execution activities.
- Establish project baselines, milestones, activities, and schedule logic in line with project requirements.
- Monitor and track actual progress against approved project schedules and baselines.
- Perform critical path analysis and identify potential schedule delays and risks.
- Analyse schedule performance, trends, and variances and provide timely updates to the Project Controls Manager.
- Support forecasting and recovery planning for delayed or at-risk activities.
- Prepare accurate and timely project planning reports, progress updates, and schedule analyses.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and other project disciplines to obtain accurate progress information.
- Ensure proper integration of multidisciplinary activities within the overall project schedule.
- Maintain high standards of schedule quality, reporting accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
- Identify schedule-related issues and support the development of corrective and mitigation actions.
- Support the Project Controls team in meeting project reporting and performance requirements.
- Assist with project controls activities and amendments as directed by the Controls Manager.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to the role as assigned by management.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Planning / Project Scheduling.
- Experience with reputable EPC and/or PMC companies.
- Experience in Oil & Gas and Marine Onshore projects.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting, and schedule analysis.
- Experience monitoring project progress against approved baselines.
- Hands-on experience in critical path analysis, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
- Ability to analyse schedule performance, identify delays, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Strong coordination skills with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management teams.
- Proficiency in recognised planning and scheduling software/tools is mandatory.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Relevant engineering or other applicable degree is preferred.
- Professional planning/scheduling certifications will be an added advantage.
