We are seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our engineering team for offshore oil & gas platform projects in the FEED and Detail Design phases. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in field instrumentation and control valves, with a focus on instrumentation design review, documentation, and vendor coordination.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review instrumentation design deliverables including datasheets, specifications, instrument index, and I/O lists for offshore platforms
  • Perform detailed review of field instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, gauges, and control valves
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, offshore standards, and international codes (IEC, ISA)
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, automation, and telecom engineers
  • Review P&IDs, hook-ups, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and instrument layouts
  • Act as a technical interface between client, EPC contractors, and instrumentation vendors
  • Review vendor documents for instruments and control valves, including datasheets, GA drawings, and calculations
  • Monitor vendor progress and conduct technical follow-ups to ensure timely and quality deliverables
  • Support FEED and Detail Design activities through design validation and interface management
  • Participate in FAT and SAT activities related to instrumentation and control systems, including offshore requirements
  • Identify design gaps, risks, and inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure proper selection, sizing, and integration of control valves and field instruments
  • Address offshore challenges such as hazardous area classification, environmental conditions, and material suitability
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID workshops
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements

KEY QUALLIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
  • 10–15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within oil & gas projects, with offshore platform experience
  • Strong experience with field instrumentation and control valves (selection, sizing, and review)
  • Proven experience in instrumentation design and documentation review
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and instrumentation vendors
  • Good understanding of P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-ups, and control philosophies
  • Familiarity with offshore standards and international codes such as IEC and ISA
  • Experience in FEED and Detail Design phases for offshore projects
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety concepts
  • Strong technical review, coordination, and vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
